This year, teachers in Providence School District are doing curriculum writing in conjunction with the Dana Center and UCONN. Over the course of the school year, teachers involved in the curriculum writing are pulled from school anywhere from 15-20 days. They are writing curriculum so that all schools can be on the same page and to make sure the students are learning what they should be learning. The curriculum says what students are going to learn from grades 6 through 12. It includes the topics and books students will study and how information is paced. The curriculum writing takes place mostly here at PCTA because we have the nicest and biggest school in the city. So remember, when you see the meetings taking place, please act professional as you pass by in the hallway, because we are responsible for our own reputation.
